The Cardinal Philanthropies Foundation is a charitable foundation established under Swiss law with the exclusive purpose of promoting education in rural and underserved regions of Africa. The foundation pursues this mission through:
- Supporting primary and secondary schools in rural Africa by funding infrastructure development, school facilities, equipment, and teaching materials.
- Developing and disseminating educational and digital learning resources (e-learning tools, curricula, training materials) for use by schools, teachers, and pupils across partner regions in Africa.
- Supporting local implementing partners, including non-profit schools, educational NGOs, and community-based organizations, to improve the quality and accessibility of schooling in underserved areas.
- Strengthening the capacity of educational institutions and educators in partner communities to deliver sustainable, high-quality education.
Eligible Recipients and Grant Restrictions:
The foundation makes grants exclusively to duly registered charitable and non-profit organizations engaged in the above listed educational activities. The foundation does not provide funding to:
- Individuals or private persons
- For-profit commercial entities
- Projects with a primary commercial purpose
- Individual scholarships or direct financial support to students
All funding is directed to institutions, schools, and educational projects that serve multiple beneficiaries and are operated by registered non-profit entities.

The foundation works with partner organizations in selected countries and regions of sub-Saharan Africa
