What the Foundation Funds
The Cardinal Philanthropies Foundation provides grants and funding for institutional and project-based educational initiatives in rural Africa. Eligible activities include:
School Infrastructure and Facilities
- Construction, renovation, or expansion of school buildings, classrooms, and learning spaces
- Provision of equipment, furniture, and learning aids (books, laboratory equipment, technology, connectivity)
- Water, sanitation, and electricity infrastructure improvements in school settings
- Libraries, computer labs, and digital learning centers
Educational Resources and Tools
- Development and licensing of digital learning platforms and e-learning tools for schools in Africa
- Production and distribution of curricula, teaching materials, and educational content in local languages
- Teacher training and professional development programs
- Pilot projects testing new educational methods or technologies in partner schools
Institutional Support
- Grants to schools, educational NGOs, and community organizations working on education in rural areas
- Capacity-building support for partner institutions to improve educational quality and management
- Monitoring and evaluation systems to track educational outcomes and impact
Grant Application Process
The foundation does not accept unsolicited funding requests. Projects are identified proactively by the board in partnership with local organizations and educational networks based on strategic priorities and community need.
